News10 Player of the Year: Grant Pacers Shaq Thompson | News

SACRAMENTO - The Grant Pacers Shaq Thompson has been named the 2011 News10 Player of the Year for high school football.

Thompson is considered of the most highly recruited high school football athletes in the Sacramento region ranked as the seventh overall and the top defensive back by Rivals.com.

Thompson, who was named to the U.S Army All-American bowl played both running back, quarterback and defensive back for the Pacers. He led Grant High School into the quarterfinals of the D-I Sac-Joaquin Section playoffs.

The 6'2", 210 pound senior is considering Cal, USC, Oregon, Notre Dame and Washington. He will make his official decision at the All-American Bowl in San Antonio on January 7th.
