3 wounded, 1 dead in Olivehurst shooting | News
OLIVEHURST, Calif. - A man was killed and three individuals wounded when at least one shooter opened fire on an Olivehurst home Sunday night.
Shots erupted from a car driving on the 5800 block of Poplar Ave. at approximately 10 p.m. Sunday night, striking four people inside, said Yuba County sheriff's spokesman Jerry Read.
According to Read, deputies were dispatched to the home and pronounced one of the gunshot victims, Teng Yang, 20, of Olivehurst, dead at the scene.
A 24-year-old man, 27-year-old man, and 19-year-old woman, all of Olivehurst, were transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, said Read. Their names were withheld pending further investigation into the shooting.
A motive for the shooting had yet to be confirmed as of Monday morning, but gang involvement had not been ruled out, Read said.
The car suspected of being used in the shooting was only described as being dark colored.
Anyone with information on the shooting was encouraged to contact the Yuba County Sheriff's Department.
