Fire destroys home, takes out area power line | News

SACRAMENTO - A fire destroyed a home in north Sacramento and took out a power line in the immediate area Tuesday morning.
Sacramento firefighters were called to the home on the 400 block of Kesner Ave. around 3:29 a.m. by an alert neighbor.
Upon arrival at the scene, firefighters found the unit fully involved and began containment efforts.
While firefighters were battling the flames, an overhanging power line snapped and fell onto the scene, but nobody was injured.
Crews had the fire extinguished by 5:30 a.m. but the home was completely destroyed.
Nobody was inside the home at the time of the fire.
Firefighters left the scene but said they would return upon sunrise to continue their investigation into what caused the fire.
