Don't forget your sunscreen!

Don't forget your sunscreen!

Sunscreen...a necessary essential all year long, but especially now.  Before you head to the beach or even your own backyard, double check your sunscreen for an expiration date.  If it has expired, get a fresh bottle.

Don't forget to cover the tops of your feet, your toes and your hands.  Slather up and enjoy your wonderful summer!

ORANGE IS MY NEW SNACK!

ORANGE IS MY NEW SNACK!

Small tomatoes fresh from the garden.  Crisp bell peppers and chips.  Carrot chips!  They are a great compliment to any meal, right out of the bag or steamed for a few minutes.  You can find them in your produce section of your market.  The next time you are shopping for your veggies for the week, take your time to see what is new in your local grocery store or farmer's market.  Pre-cut jicama is a great time saver.  Snap peas, already washed and ready to go.  Add color and have fun while eating clean and healthy.

Spring Allergies Got You Down? Try Oil Pulling!

Spring Allergies Got You Down? Try Oil Pulling!

By Erica Root

I don’t think my sinuses have been completely cleared since I moved to Sacramento nearly five years ago. First came the allergies, then came the chronic sinus infection because I couldn’t manage to keep my raging allergies under control.

Recently my pain escalated to the point where I had to seek medical attention. While antibiotics instantly relieved some of my worse symptoms: severe headaches, exhaustion, and nausea, it all came back within 36 hours of finishing my prescription. With my doctor reluctant to prescribe me additional antibiotics, I began scouring the internet for alternative ways to manage my issues, which were starting to impact my daily life. ... Read More

Folsom Dentist and Staff Provide Free Care to Nicaraguan Children

Folsom Dentist and Staff Provide Free Care to Nicaraguan Children

Folsom children’s dentist, Bryan Randolph, DDS, is committed to improving the smiles of children here at home and 3,000 miles away in Nicaragua.

The owner of busy dental practices in Folsom and Natomas, Dr. Randolph recently returned from providing free dental care to more than 100 patients at schools in Jinotepe and Managua. The trip has become an annual tradition for his office, his recent trip being his fourth to the area.

“We believe in treating every child as if they were our own,” says Dr. Randolph whose son, Christian, and wife, Martina Randolph, MD, a Folsom physician, often accompany him on his travels. “Nicaragua is stricken with poverty and it means the world to us to provide basic care including teeth cleaning, filling cavities, taking x-rays and applying sealants to both new and familiar patients.”
