Spend your Fourth on the Field!

Spend your Fourth on the Field!

Still searching for something to do this July 4th? Come out and celebrate our nation’s birthday on the baseball field! Raley Field will bring the neighborhood block party feel to the River Cats' home turf this Friday night.

In the evening, kiddos can enjoy a fun-filled kids area equipped with games, coloring pages, face painters, and inflatable structures; local food trucks, beer, and live music from Nunchuck Taylor will entertain grown-ups.

To cap off the night, find a comfy spot on the field and watch the night sky above the ballpark light up with a spectacular fireworks show synced to patriotic music at 9:30pm. (Blankets are okay; no chairs are allowed on the field.)

Railroad Museum to Debut Traveling Smithsonian Exhibition “Journey Stories” on 6/21!

California State Parks and the California State Railroad Museum are proud to be the first institution in California to debut a Smithsonian traveling exhibition titled “Journey Stories” on June 21, 2014.  With the use of compelling photographs, visual display panels, narrative text and more, the “Journey Stories” exhibition highlights how transportation and migration helped build the United States, how it has changed us as a nation, and how our mobile world looked to travelers along the way. The exhibition also demonstrates our collective personal heritage and how everyone has an interesting story to tell.
