Sharon Ito's blog: How fun was it to have my in-laws and my folks drop by my house this afternoon, unexpectedly in both cases, and have their visits overlap. 

I couldn't wait to show the photo to our daughter --  how many kids can say both sets of grandparents live close by.  And as my husband and I say with gratitude, our folks (in their 80s or approaching 80) are still with us and they continue to live independent and meaningful lives.  

My folks are celebrating their 56th wedding anniversary this weekend; my in-laws are approaching 59 years together in August.  Now that's pretty special, too.
