Pizza eatery owner faces lewd behavior accusations

SACRAMENTO, CA - A Sacramento police investigation has led to the arrest of a pizza restaurant owner on suspicion of supplying marijuana to at least one girl in exchange for sexual acts.

John Julian Martinez, 42, is alleged to have displayed lewd behavior and touched a number of girls in a sexual manner, according to the police report.

"I wasn't expecting any drug activity. But definitely the funny activity with the young girls, you'd expect that from him," said Jerimiah Morris, who works at the barbershop next door.

"I'm glad they finally took care of it. And he's going to get what's coming to him," barber Malcolm Butler said.

Detectives believe Martinez's alleged criminal behavior began when he opened Royal Pizza on the 2200 block of Northgate Boulevard approximately two years ago.

Peeping Tom startling women in Natomas

SACRAMENTO, CA - Sacramento police say they've received two reports of a man caught looking into the windows of women in Natomas this week.

In both cases, the victims screamed and scared away the peeping Tom.

In the first instance on Aug. 12 at 10:36 p.m., police said the woman caught a man outside of her apartment patio window looking into her apartment.

In the second case on Aug. 14, 11:31 p.m., another woman told police she was shocked to see a man looking through the blinds of her apartment bedroom window. Her scream brought a security guard but the Peeping Tom got away.

The reports came from the 1700 block of Capitol Park Drive and 3300 block of Broken Branch Court.

The victims described the Peeping Tom as black, in his 30s, 6 feet tall with a thin build. He was bald and clean-shaven. They described his complexion as light to medium.

Suspected Carmichael child predator arrested

CARMICHAEL, CA - A man suspected of breaking into Carmichael homes and confronting children in the middle of the night, is now in custody according to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department.

Deputy Jason Ramos said the man entered homes on Mission Avenue, between Whitney Avenue and Marconi Avenue. After confronting the children in the home, the man flees on foot.

Ramos did not clarify how the man is "confronting children" because it is an ongoing investigation.

The man was arrested near Mission Avenue where the incidents occured, said Ramos.

The man was seen in surveillance photos several times during the past week he was last seen early morning Aug. 4.

Sacramento detectives make arrest in January rape

SACRAMENTO, CA - A Yuba City man was arrested for a kidnapping and sexual assault in Sacramento last January, say police.

Sacramento detectives took Sarbjit Singh Sandhu, 32, into custody Thursday on suspicion of forcible rape and kidnapping with intent to commit sexual assault.

Police say the victim, a woman in her 20s, was kidnapped by two people at gunpoint in the north Sacramento area as she arrived home from work. Her kidnappers blindfolded her and tied up her hands, she told officers. The kidnappers then drove her to an unknown location estimated about 40 minutes away and raped her.

Detectives were still looking to identify and find the second rapist.

3 convicted in deadly Del Paso Heights drive-by shooting

SACRAMENTO, CA - Three men were found guilty of second- degree murder, four counts of attempted murder, shooting at an occupied building and firearm and gang charges for a drive-by shooting in Del Paso Heights last year.

According to the Sacramento County District Attorney's Office, defendants Adam Cornejo and Isaac Vasquez were in an SUV driven on by Jesse Cornejo on Jan. 19, 2011,  when the first two men opened fire on Deandre Ellison and four friends as they pulled up to Ellison's home on Carmel Avenue. One of Ellison's friend returned fire.

Ellison was shot in the back and died.

According to court records, the defendants fled the scene. Sacramento police officers soon spotted the SUV and attempted to stop it. Jesse Cornejo sped off and a high-speed police chase ensued until the SUV crashed into several vehicles at the intersection of Del Paso Road and Natomas Boulevard. The trio ran from officers but were caught.

Burglars strike Natomas businesses

NATOMAS, CA - Three Natomas businesses were burglarized early Tuesday morning.

Sacramento police were looking into whether at least two of them, located on the same block, were targeted by the same individuals.

V Max Cleaners at 3511 Del Paso Road and Subway restaurant on the 3500 block of Del Paso Boulevard were hit at 2:46 a.m., say police. In both instances, the burglars were described as men, white, in their 20s with medium builds. One had a blond or brown crewcut and wore a green sweatshirt. The other wore a red, hoodie sweatshirt and blue jeans.

The third burglary police were investigating was at the Ground Zero Board shop at 3642 N. Freeway Boulevard. A security alarm at 3:24 a.m. brought officers to the business where they found a forced entry and merchandise taken, according to the police report.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Police: Man drives drunk thru McDonald's drive-thru

SACRAMENTO, CA - A man was arrested near a Natomas McDonald's after trying to run from police early Sunday morning.

Juan Jimenez, 23, was taken into custody after a witness in the drive-thru called police to report a visibly drunk driver, Sacramento police Officer Michele Gigante said.

The witness told police the driver appeared to be passing out on the wheel and honking the horn; at one point, the driver was hanging out of a window and almost crashed into the building.

When police arrived at the scene, Jimenez was in the McDonald's parking lot waiting for his order. Gigante said he ran from police to a nearby field where he was arrested by officers.

Jimenez was booked into jail for a DUI and resisting arrest, Gigante said.
