Sacramento police search for assault suspect | Crime

SACRAMENTO, CA- The Sacramento Police Department needs help from the community to find an assault suspect.
The female victim was attacked on Thursday around 8:15 p.m. near Broadgate Way and Westlake Parkway, said Sacramento police spokesperson Laura Peck.
Peck said the victim was attacked during her run. The victim told police the attacker was playing basketball, approached her, knocked her down and began choking her. The victim was able to free herself, and the suspect fled, said Peck.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic or Asian male with dark skin, about 5'6", wearing a black baseball cap, light colored shirt and dark colored baggy shorts.
