Man identified in Elverta shooting | Crime

ELVERTA, CA - A man in his 30s was discovered mortally wounded on Kasser Road in Elverta Wednesday morning.

Deputy Jason Ramos of the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department said deputies responded to a call of a person in the roadway around 2:00 a.m. and found the man laying lifeless in the street with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man was identified on Thursday as Anthony Ortega, 33, of Sacramento.

Deputies have not identified any suspects or a motive for the shooting, and are asking for the public's assistance with information about the incident, said Ramos.
