SACRAMENTO, CA - Police are investigating how a 35-year-old woman wound up out of a moving vehicle and on the side of Northgate Blvd. on Saturday.

Sgt. Andrew Pettit of the Sacramento Police Dept. said officers arrived at the scene and found the woman suffering from very serious injuries. The woman, whose name was not released, was transported to a nearby hospital where she was said to be in critical condition.

The woman's boyfriend, 25-year-old Brian Galvan, was questioned at the scene and admitted to drinking at a bar on Northgate Blvd. prior to the incident, said Pettit. He was subsequently tested and booked for driving under the influence.

According to Pettit, Galvan told officers he was unaware how his girlfriend exited the moving vehicle.

Anyone with additional information is asked to call the Sacramento Police Department at (916) 264-5471.
