Car passenger shot driving through Sacramento neighborhood | Crime

SACRAMENTO - A person was shot while in a car driving through a Sacramento neighborhood in the 40 block of Ford Road around 3 a.m. Thursday.

The shooting victim was in the car with three other individuals.  One of the people in the car said they were driving along the street when they heard gunshots. Soon thereafter, the group realized the person had been hit.

The driver of the car transported the victim  to one of the involved individual's homes about a block away and contacted authorities, said police.

Police said the gunshot victim was taken to hospital in serious condition.

Police did not release the identities of persons involved or an suspected motive for the shooting.
