SACRAMENTO, CA - Sacramento police detectives are investigating the homicide of a man in Del Paso Heights Thursday.

Officers were dispatched in response to a 911 call at approximately noon there was a man who had been found shot on the 600 block of Las Palmas Avenue, according to Officer Doug Morse.

The 50-year-old man was transported to an area hospital where medical staff pronounced him dead, Morse said.

According to witnesses, the victim was working on a neighbor's car when a another car pulled up, the shooter got out and fired several rounds into the man. The shooter then got back into his car and drove away.

No other information was available regarding why the man was shot or who pulled the trigger.
