Victim in Del Paso Heights shooting identified | Crime

SACRAMENTO, CA - A 19-year-old man is dead after being shot in a Del Paso Heights neighborhood Tuesday night.

The shooting happened around 6:42 p.m., near North Avenue and May Street, Sacramento police said.

The victim, identified as Michael Burdan, was shot in his upper body. Police said he was unresponsive and lying in the roadway when they arrived on the scene.  He was pronounced dead moments later.

Police said it seems Burdan was riding his bicycle to a family member's home in the area when he was shot.

Crime Scene investigators and detectives were called to the scene to further examine into the shooting and determine a motive.

This is Sacramento's 30th homicide of the year.
