1 shot, 2 arrested near Grant HS in Sacramento | Crime
SACRAMENTO, CA - Sacramento police officers were called to Dry Creek Road and North Avenue around 8:36 a.m. Thursday in response to a shooting near Grant High School.
According to Sacramento Police Department Officer Michelle Gigante, arriving officers located a man in his 20s with a gunshot wound to the upper body at Grand Avenue and Clay Street, about a block away from the Grant High campus.
Sacramento Fire Department paramedics transported the individual to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
About 10 minutes later, police officers converged on a home near O'Donnell Avenue. and Haywood Street. Upon entering the property, officers located a woman and two men believed to be her adult sons. The two men were both arrested, said Gigante.
An ensuing investigation revealed the suspected shooter and the victim knew one another. Gigante said the alleged gunman man was riding a bicycle when he approached the victim who was walking alone on the street. At some point during the confrontation, the man on the bicycle is believed to have shot the other individual.
The shooting appeared to be gang-related, Gigante said.
No information was provided on the identity of the victim or the men taken into custody.
