About a half hour later, a passerby called police, informing them of a man down in an alleyway near Redwood Avenue and Cantalier Street, Gigante said.

Upon arrival, officers found a black man in his upper 20s with noticeable trauma to his upper body, said Gigante. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A short time later, officers conducted an investigation at a home near Del Paso Boulevard and W. El Camino Avenue where they removed and detained two people from the residence. According to Gigante, police were attempting to identify whether the individuals removed from the home were connected with the death of the man in the alley.

El Camino Avenue was closed until noon when officers determined no one else was in the residence they surrounded. No arrests have been made.
