SACRAMENTO, CA - Sacramento police say a baby was taken to an area hospital as a precaution after the child was left in a locked car in a Natomas shopping center parking lot Thursday afternoon.
Witnesses at the Target parking lot on Gateway Oaks told responding officers they believe the approximately 2-month-old child was in the car alone for 10 minutes or so, said Sgt. Andrew Pettit.
As firefighters tried to unlock the car door, the mother came out of the store with a 2-year-old.
Pettit said the mother, 31-year-old Andrea Pas Perdomo, was arrested on charges of felony child endangerment.
The 2-year-old was given to the father, Pettit said.
