Police Arrest Sexual Assault Suspect

The Sacramento Police Department has arrested 31-year-old Keith Wright for sexual assault and robbery.

On Sunday, August 21, 2011, at approximately 2 a.m. officers responded to the 4800 block of Kokomo Drive on a home invasion.  Based on the investigation, officers believe the suspect entered the residence through an unlocked door and robbed the victim at gunpoint.  Sometime during the robbery, the suspect sexually assaulted the victim.

There were two prior home invasion robberies with similar circumstances that occurred in the Natomas area. Detectives believed these robberies were connected to the Kokomo incident based their similarities.

Mutual Housing hires Mariano Jauco as lead organizer

SACRAMENTO - Sacramento|Yolo Mutual Housing Association recently hired Mariano Jauco as lead organizer. In his new position, Jauco will supervise six community organizers who work with two-to-three Mutual Housing properties in Sacramento and Yolo counties. As well as being the management contact, he will provide coaching and training in building community across the many cultures and ethnicities of the diverse residents.

Prior to joining Mutual Housing, Jauco was the City of Sacramento’s Neighborhood Resources Coordinator where he was responsible for providing information and resources to community members. In this capacity, he also worked with neighborhood groups to improve the safety and residential quality of life.

Jauco currently is Chair of Pace e Bene Nonviolence Service and has worked with the Catholic Campaign for Human Development. He has served on the Board of Directors for the United Way of the East Bay, Tri-City Homeless Coalition and Renewed HOPE.
