History - The stretch of Stockton Boulevard promoted by the Partnership is part of historic Old Highway 99, which, for over 100 years, was a major transportation artery linking the old town area of the City of Sacramento to the City of Stockton. Before the 99 Freeway was built, families traveling between the two cities on Old Highway 99 would commonly stop at the numerous fruit and vegetable stands operated by local farms.
