SACRAMENTO - Sacramento's plan to pay for a new downtown arena might be close to hitting a bump in the road.

On Thursday, "Think Big" held a public meeting to talk about private parking operators who are interested in operating the city's public parking lots and spaces.

A report came out Thursday afternoon detailing the parking plan. It's over a hundred pages long and available for the public to read online.

The plan to pay for the new arena calls for Sacramento to lease thousands of city-owned parking spaces to a private operator. The deal could raise $200 million or more to help pay for a new home for the Kings.

Sacramento Kings release new, black jersey

SACRAMENTO, CA - The Sacramento Kings have unveiled a brand new, alternate black jersey to debut for the 2011-12 regular season home opener on Dec. 26.

The black jersey will be featured for the Kings first ever, "blackout" game at the home opener versus the Los Angeles Lakers. Every fan in attendance will be given complimentary black T-shirts to commemorate the event.

"We are honored to bring the black jersey back to our fans. Craig Amazeen, Kings Senior Vice President of broadcasting, News Media and Brand Development. "[It] captures the epic feeling of what will be a defining season."

The black jerseys feature a retro word-mark on the front which pays homage to the past along with a modern side trim. The jersey was created to be reminiscent of the black jerseys from the late 90's into the early 2000's.

Fans who want to purchase one of these limited edition jerseys can check out the NBA store online for the holiday season.

Sacramento Kings release season schedule

Sacramento Kings season schedule. 

It's a happy day for Sacramento Kings fans who have been waiting all season to see their team play.  On Tuesday they posted their full season schedule. Their first game will at home on December 26 when they host the Los Angeles Lakers at Power Balance Pavilion (7 pm PST).

Loaded gun found on Sacramento school roof

SACRAMENTO, CA - A maintenance worker found a loaded gun on the roof of Woodlake Elementary School in Sacramento Monday morning, according to the Twin Rivers Police Department.

Officer William said officers initially investigated the weapon to determine whether it had been used in a nearby homicide, but results revealed the gun was not related to the shooting.

Cho said one bullet had been discharged from the gun, which has since been removed from the school.

According to Cho, the maintenance worker had last been on the roof seven days ago, meaning the weapon was left, or thrown up there between Nov. 28 and Dec. 5, 2011.

Police did not offer any ideas on how the gun wound up on the roof.

2 arrested in Rio Linda school vandalism

RIO LINDA, CA - Crews spent Monday boarding up windows and sweeping broken glass at Rio Linda Elementary School.

Vandals broke 23 windows at the school located on the 600 block of L Street.

A neighbor heard a pellet gun being fired Monday morning and called the Twin Rivers Police Department.

When officers arrived, they found one person jumping over the school fence. A police helicopter spotted another person.

Taken into custody and arrested were Bradley Sletto and Kyle Copley.

The damage was estimated at several thousand dollars.

"Everytime they vandalize the school that's one more playground ball, one more basketball, one more soccer net that the kids don't have 'cuz it takes the money right out of our budgets. Where it should be for the kids, now we're doing it for vandalism," said maintenance worker Jerry Moore.

Mutual Housing hires Ciraulo as asset manager

Sacramento|Yolo Mutual Housing Association has hired Rich Ciraulo as the Director of Asset Management. In this job, he is responsible for planning and monitoring the operations and financial performance of Mutual Housing’s regional communities. Ciraulo will handle acquisitions, refinancing and rehabilitation to preserve the portfolio as well as develop and maintain investor and lender relationships. He also will implement long-term strategies to improve performance that meets the nonprofit’s goals.  

Previously, Ciraulo was a senior project manager at Mercy Housing California where he oversaw the planning, financing, design and construction of their mixed-use, multi-and single-family developments. He also secured financing, negotiated contracts and leases, managed contractors and carried out community outreach.

Ciraulo has been in the housing and construction field for more than 17 years. He has a Master’s degree in civil engineering from Stanford University.
